In Honor of 5.6.1995
It is difficult to see a border, unless it is marked by a radical change.
Or then you can just draw a line.
A blast. A row of poles. A red satin ribbon.
On Friday 5.6.2020 16-17:30 the 25 years of protection measures on Harakka island and The International Environmental Day were honored with performances and festivities by Harakka Collective, other artists from Harakka Artists' House and workers of the Harakka Nature House. The event was accessible through insta-live @harakan_taiteilijatalo.
Kastehelmi Korpijaakko: 5.6.1995
The performance honors the founding day of the Harakka nature reserve as well as the World Environment Day. During the performance a memorial plate (made of copper and located in the birdwatching cottage) is being washed and polished by the performer. Also a speech is held and both the observant audience of nesting birds and the border of the nature reserve are being acknowledged.
